some people out there that are audio experimenters and audio experts really put their work up to the test of the user. when i start this blog i started to try out all the formats in freac converter. i noticed when custom encoding with flac and reconverting to maybe ape or aiff the result goes hand in hand and really, the dynamic range and way the decoding on the sony player puts the music out is way different. i think sony should really come out with a new format for their headphones and players because it seems natural to do that. the dependance on the sony headphones with the decoding should really place the profession of the audio technicians to that specific type of work. i encoded Tool - Lateralus with custom flac and reconverted to aiff and you might notice what i noticed in how the quality in the decoding on the player is from each format, flac and aiff (or ape). here is an example of Tool - Lateralus with custom flac encoding and reconversion to aiff. the quality reminds me of real authentic cd quality music from the original standard album. really interesting to notice this sort of thing when experimenting. it tells you alot about the industry of audio formats on players.
