i used zero order hold interpolater over original cd rip copy of lateralus to 44khz and got a 24bit sample width automatically with fre:ac encoder.
the the zero order interpolater is fairly interesting due to the fact that over time the phase and the amplification starts to get balanced over time while playing and the battery plays a role in better quality due to this interpolater frequency. i dont think any specific interpolaters are better than the zero order hold interpolater used in the fre:ac encoder. it works great with this encoding setup.
